He received his MA from University of Pennsylvania and is a licensed architect in both United States and Taiwan. Currently he is a professor at Yuan-Ze University as well the Chairperson of Department of Art and Design. He is an author of around 30 books regarding both architecture and literature. One of his novels Lin Xiu-Zhi and Her Family was chosen “10 best books written in Chinese of 2004” by Yazhou Zhoukan/ Hong Kong and this book is also included inside the long list of 2009 Man Asia Literary Prize. He is also an active curator with many exhibitions such as ‘The rumor of China Towns: Chinese Architecture 2004’ at MoCA Taipei and‘Paradise Revisited: Micro Cities and Non-Meta Architecture in Taiwan’ at Taiwan Pavilion in Venice Architecture Biennale 2006.
