“ It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. And this is the age of participation. ”
A number of major events has happened in Taiwan in the past year. Many of these incidents came too abruptly, and were too short-lived to leave a lasting impact.
Despite the chaos, we should pause and identify the key messages that mark this era.
What are the mental images we want to communicate to the world and to our children?
Do we want to move forward, or should we remain in the midst of uncertainty?
This generation needs a special force to spark participation. All of us must stand united in our beliefs and values and speak our minds.
This generation calls for a collective momentum to “flip” and jumpstart Taiwan.
This “flip” requires cultivated resilience; a fearless determination to grow and move forward, yet with the ability to remain true to its principles.
